Forecast for Tuesday Last Updated: Monday Evening
TUESDAY QUICK FORECAST:

REGIONAL FORECAST:
Temperatures will remain cool for most of Minnesota on Tuesday, with upper 50s to low 60s for most of the state. Towards the metro, temperatures will max out in the upper 60s to low 70s, with some upper 70s and low 80s near Rochester and La Crosse.

POSSIBLE RAINFALL TOTALS:
Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected across Minnesota on Tuesday. Round one will begin in the morning with a break of rain near the noon hour. Round two enters late afternoon into the evening. With rivers in Minnesota running at or above normal, any additional precipitation increases the possibility of river flooding during our Memorial Day weekend, especially along the Minnesota River.

SEVERE THREAT FOR TUESDAY:
As of Monday evening, the Storm Prediction Center has the Twin Cities metro and surrounding areas under a slight risk of severe weather for Tuesday. Areas towards Rochester and La Crosse, Wisconsin, are under an enhanced risk of severe weather. The further north you go, the less of a severe threat exists. Keep in mind that this information is current as of Monday evening. What can be expected is severely strong to severe thunderstorms across southeastern Minnesota. Timing for these storms will begin in the morning hours, but more severe level storms towards the afternoon. The primary threat will be damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain, and possibly a few tornadoes. For the latest severe weather outlooks, click here.
